Player registrations that will expire on 31st May 2021

Dear Sir / Madam,

The Football Association of Wales (“FAW”) writes by way of reminder to Clubs that the following registrations for Amateur Players will automatically expire and therefore Terminate on FAW COMET on 31st May 2021:

1) Any Junior Player in Academic Year 11;
2) Any Junior Player granted Temporary Eligibility to participate in a Junior League;
3) Any Youth Player granted Temporary Eligibility to participate in a Youth League; and
4) Any Futsal Player.

Such Players will need to re-register (if applicable) when the relevant Professional Registration Period and/or Amateur Registration Period opens on 9th June 2021.

The above automatic annual end-of-season processes are in accordance with the FAW COMET Regulations and the applicable registration form signed by the player or the parent/guardian as applicable.

It is strongly recommended that Clubs should make the Players and/or the parents/guardians concerned aware of the above matters to avoid the potential for any alarm should they receive automated emails regarding any termination from FAW COMET. There will be no need for players or parents/guardians to contact the FAW regarding this matter.

By way of further reminder, all other Amateur Players shall remain registered with a Club until such time as that registration is Terminated by the Club or that Amateur Player is transferred to another club once the applicable Professional Registration Period and/or Amateur Registration Period has opened as above.

This paragraph is save for any other termination by the FAW due to any non-compliance with FAW Rules and/or Regulations as outlined in the FAW COMET Club Communications Update of 18th May 2021.

Should you have any questions, then please do not hesitate to contact me.

Yours Sincerely,
Aron Hughes
Player Registrations Manager
Football Association of Wales
